The Traditional rocking chair is a traditional Finnish product made out of solid birch. The high-quality materials and Eimi’s decades of experience ensure the quality of the Traditional rocking chair. The rocking chairs are made to order in Padasjoki, Finland. In the traditional rocking chair, you can see the handiwork of our woodworkers. We know that wood is a material that changes as humidity shifts. That’s why the wood is sorted for every chair by looking at the grains and colors in the wood. Doing this ensures that the wood doesn’t change in multiple directions. The finished product is of even color and finish like it was made out of a single piece of wood.

Every part of the traditional rocking chair is hand-finished before assembly. During the assembling process, the parts are sorted and checked so that the parts in one chair are as even as possible. The chairs are assembled by hand. The assembled chair is always surface-treated at least two times. In between treatments the chair is sanded by hand. A large part of the manufacturing process is done by hand. This ensures good quality and that the possible mistakes are noticed before shipment and dealt with in production.
