In designer Hanna Saari's products, wood comes into its own. The design of the products emphasizes the natural shapes and beauty of wood. She designs products that feel good to the touch and that wear beautifully. Hanna Saari's statement, ‘Wood is the most beautiful material in the world’, best describes her work and products. In each of her products and works, wood plays the main role and is not hidden anywhere, but its features and patterns are highlighted. This is also reflected in the surface treatment. For example, the Halikko chopping board has a paraffin oil treatment that leaves the surface of the wood as natural as possible.

‘Signs of use are allowed to be visible in furniture. I design furniture and small products that leave the surface as natural as possible. This way, the feel of the wood is present and tangible’. The solid wood material alone gives the products a unique character. No two pieces of wood are identical. Wood is also an ecological material and a great renewable material. Products must be durable and pleasurable to the eye in the future as well. ‘My vision is to create unique, ecological and sustainable Finnish design for international markets.
