Sustainable design is not only a buzzword but a fundamental shift in how we approach innovation and creativity. By redefining design principles, we can create spaces, products, and structures that harmonize with the environment rather than depleting its resources. We will delve into the various facets of sustainable design, including eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient technologies, and regenerative practices that minimize waste and pollution.

Biophilic design

Biophilic design is an emerging trend that seeks to reconnect humanity with nature by integrating natural elements into our working and living spaces. From rooftop gardens and green walls to large windows that invite natural light, we explore the benefits of biophilic design and how it enhances our well-being while reducing our ecological footprint.

Zero-waste living

Designers have the power to influence consumers' behavior positively. They delve into the concept of zero-waste living and explore how design can inspire sustainable consumption habits. From repurposing and upcycling to designing products with recyclability in mind, designers can uncover the innovative ways they can contribute to reducing waste generation.

Circular economy in design

The linear "take, make, dispose" model is no longer sustainable. A circular economy is an alternative approach that promotes materials' continuous reuse and regeneration. Designers can play a vital role in embracing circularity by designing products and systems that minimize waste and maximize resource efficiency.

Scandinavian and Finnish design is minimal with simple lines and combines functionality with beauty. The design shows only the essential elements of the products. The simple lines, clean and minimal approach extends from architecture to electronics, but most commonly, it's used in interior design. Organic and natural materials are often used in Scandinavian design. The Scandinavian design harmonizes with one's environment and creates lasting things.
