The Halikko cutting board is made from ash, designed by Hanna Saari and made in Salo, Finland, and it is a wonderful example of Finnish design and craftsmanship. The cutting board, made from solid ash, brings out the natural beauty and shapes of the wood. It’s available in several sizes, and you can combine three different sizes to create a handy and practical cutting board set that is a great and practical addition to any kitchen.
A solid wood board is the best possible cutting board. It is proven to kill bacteria, is resistant to use and plastic can't enter the food. It also makes the knives stay sharper. If necessary, you can lightly sand the cutting board and finish it with paraffin oil. We recommend treating your cutting board 4-6 times a year, depending on the amount of use. The cutting board is not machine washable and should be washed with a mild detergent whenever necessary and dried in an upright position. Paraffin oil is available, for example, from a hardware store.
Please note that the cutting board is made of real solid wood, and each cutting board is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece. Its colour can vary and can be more vivid than in the pictures.
