We are asked weekly for discounts on different channels. Discount codes and promotions, are there any discounts and are there any discounts coming? Those who have been following us for a long time have surely noticed that we do not have any discounts. But why don't we have any discounts? In this blog post, I open up our thoughts on discounts and eternal discount campaigns in the furniture industry.

We don't have discounts

From the very first day onwards, we have taken a strict line of discounts. We don't give discounts. This no discounts idea has been greatly influenced by the endless discount campaigns in the furniture industry, which destroys the industry. The main idea here is that you can order whenever you really need the product. You don't have to wait for a discount campaign or upset your mind when that product was on sale in next week.

Effects of discounts

We do not want to reduce the value and price point of our products with discounts. Discounts are endless swamps. When you give 20 % discounts, it will be the value of your product. Customers learn that there are discounts and wait for a promotion to order. It naturally shows up as a great sale then, but you've just given a high percentage of your margin and payout as a seller. Your pricing and coverage will also suffer significantly. The other thing is – 70% and -50% discounts when you order products for promotion.

Manufacturers

The above-mentioned change in the price point of the product is really challenging. In general, based on my own experience, as a former entrepreneur of a furniture factory, I can say that the pricing of high-quality furniture is really tight. The manufacturer tries to get the product at a reasonable price to the consumer. To the price point that it sells and that the proceeds of the product's sales should also be paid for its wages and materials, etc. Due to the pricing model in the industry, the resale price often affects the manufacturer's selling price.

We're always on the manufacturer's side. We want to keep the price of the product reasonable for the customer and the manufacturer. The manufacturer must receive fair compensation for the product to develop new products and operations. We want to get more visibility and orders for high-quality manufacturers. It costs a lot.
