Satu Nisu Design's black blanket is handmade from start to finish using innovative techniques and traditional weaving techniques. For example, it takes around 50 hours to make one standard 1.1 m x 1.7 m blanket, with over 3 000 pieces of fabric attached one by one. The warp required for weaving is traditionally created with warping mills, after which the base of the textiles is woven with looms. When the base is woven, each piece of fabric is carefully hand-attached one by one, giving each product its unique look and feel.
