Made out of solid wood and composite, the Pala cutting board is a tasteful and beautiful solution for the kitchen. The product is a joy to use and it can be easily left on the kitchen counter as a piece of decor.

The Pala cutting board is designed and manufactured in Lahti, Finland at the Muoto2 factory. For the wood, you have two options: oak or ash wood. The grains of the wood are muted and with some pieces can even be surprising.

The surface of the cutting board has been treated with paraffin oil, which is completely safe to use with food. The cutting surface of the board is good for your knife and is well suited to cut bread or vegetables or even use it as part of your table setting.

How to care for:

The solid wood cutting board should be treated on the regular. The paraffin oil finish wears out when washed and it should always be added when the board feels dry or rough. Wash with warm water.

The board can feel rough after the first washes when it can be lightly sanded or re-oiled if necessary. The roughness will fairly quickly go away in use. Do not soak the product or put it in the washing machine.

Please note that the Pala cutting board is made out of solid wood and composite. You can find branch marks from the wood, which naturally occur in it. Every cutting board is different.

Muoto2

Muoto2 was founded in the spring of 2010. The company’s approach is to combine design, manufacturing, and R&D all under the same roof. Founded by the two designers of the company, Kirsi Pasanen and Mikko Kenta, the business was the first design firm in Finland that had its own manufacturing plant from the start.

The idea behind the Muoto2 name is design and the number of the founders. The company designs and manufactures furnishing for homes and larger entireties for public spaces.
